A direct client of ours in mid-town New York City is seeking a MYSQL DBA to 
join their development and support team.  Candidate will be mainly doing MYSQL 
DBA work, but will also have a chance to work with LAMP, JAVA, Drupal, Ruby, 
and Fedora.  DBA will be reporting to Director of Software Development and will 
support all database-driven systems relating to web and digital repository.

Duties include but not limited to:

-  Creation and management of database spaces
-  Access control and permissions - who can read/write
-  User Accounts
-  Cross system access and permissions
-  Services on databases such as JDBC
-  Indexing
-  Optimization of query performance

Qualifications:
-  Extensive hands on background relational database, performance tuning and 
capacity planning especially on MySQL and Postgres based environments.
-  Strong knowledge of LAMP and JAVA
-  Experience working with Drupal, Ruby and Fedeora are a PLUS
