Applixware does use ODBC, but it has a *very* old iODBC driver, and
will not connect via ODBC to a remote MySQL server.  The best you can
do is speak to a local MySQL server on the same machine that is
running Applixware.  Nobody on the Applixware list has demonstrated
otherwise.  This is well documented in the Applixware mailing list,
which is archived on the www.applix.com site.
