Hi all: Does mysql support multibyte characters (like Chinese)? I am using a perl program with DBI/DBD to update a table.. which contains names which are in Chinese. (my platform is solaris2.5) mysql doesn't seem to like it... also tried encoding these characters with encode_base64 function (from MIME::Base64) but doesn't seem to work either... If any of you have and any success before would certainly appreciate a response.
