The use of Xvmc was causing X to crash. That, combined with the fact
that any processor made in the past 5, or maybe even 7 years, should not
need Xvmc drove the decision to disable that compile time option in late
2010 in the standard Mythbuntu builds. MythTV itself is dropping Xvmc
on the next release as well, but if you want to use it in the mean time,
you could always recompile it yourself.
