OK I think I sorted it - went into mythconverg database using phpmyadmin and found a bunch of rows in "recorded" table with the above "loungeroom" hostname

I have tried adding "loungeroom" as a hostname for the machine in /etc/hosts but that does not help... I am fast running out of hard drive space! (btw is there some command I need to run to manually clear the backlog of programs which need to be deleted?)
