What difference does it make if its an upconvert or not? Since you are just saving the mpeg streams it doesn't care about what format it is in. If the content was (foolishly) upconverted to say 720p or 1080i it would be just the same as if the content were true 720p or 1080i. The bandwidth usage should be the same, so I don't understand what you are getting at..
