Knowing this isn't isolated is at least encouraging... =) Once I get the new stuff thrown on the box, I'll start digging into the source and see what I can come up with..

Fortunately, for me, I don't watch live TV, so it does not bother me.  It is
far more usefull to have both the functionality of XrandR, and the smooth
playback which OpenGL provides, that it is to watch live TV.
