This doesn't make sense to me. If you were on 0.16 and you cleared
your channel options these tables would have been truncated.

True, but now that we are 0.17 or later, those old tables are an informative backup, in case the 0.17/CVS DVB code is somehow broken.


 So you are
actively leaving tables that would have been emptied before ?

More like not clearing tables that don't need to be cleared, and have some nominally slight value.

(i.e. I can lookup the values without
having to snoop around in database backups,
and can compare the operation of a backend between
a 0.17/CVS tune with 0.16 data, in the same database)



        I think the correct way/time to clear these is via drop
table in dbcheck.cpp, and the correct time is just after 0.18
is released.
