Thought about this, but this doesn't output video, plus I'd like my setup not to assume that there's always a network available, or a monitor, etc... so if I could make it work with a TV or a monitor (whatever is available), that would be ideal.

How about this idea:
I have a second computer running win98. Useing the X forwarding of my myth box I can configure it on Cygwin/X (with ssh) on the windows box.
