I've been playing with nuvexport, and was wondering if I can use it to recompress video after setting up the cutlists to not only remove commercials but to shrink its size on disk - and still use it from Myth? I have a sinking feeling that since the video would no longer be MPEG, the decompression would then be reliant completely on the frontend CPU... if it's even possible, that is.
Use the mpeg2cut option, which just cuts and does NOT reencode, and then move the resulting file back in place on top of the original in your video directory (after checking sync/etc).
