Even if you could get a cable box with an active firewire port, chances are most of the channels would be encrypted anyway. For a laptop, you'd better pin your hopes on a USB tuner. There is at least one that is supported by the Linux V4L subsystem, and hopefully Myth will support them before too much longer. Another option would be to find a PCMCIA tuner card (which is what you originally asked, anyway!). A quick Google shows one by AverMedia and one by Yuan; don't know if they'll work under Linux, though. If they are standard framegrabber cards and are supported under V4L, then they *should* "just work" in Myth.
