Craig, one thing I did, which may not apply to use, is that I also put the line for my soundblaster live card: (in /etc/modprobe.conf) alias snd-card-0 snd-emu10k1 up higher in the .conf file. The soundcard config utility in FC2 automatically put that at the end of my modprobe.conf file, and my system didn't like that too much. Andy also brings up a good point about needing to reboot.
