Please ignore these last messages. I have resolved the issue (by removing and reinstalling ivtv and the kernel module by hand) and several reboots.
The transition from FC1->FC2 was not as painless as I hoped, but everything seems to be up and working (with some real kludgy lirc fixes, and power management hopefully turned off).
