Whenever I run Xine, it works fine, but once I go back and try to watch live TV, I get a blank black screen. Audio is playing fine, but I cannot bring anything up for video. I have to cold boot the system to get Myth back. A simple reboot doesn't do it.
Damn! I had that very same problem, got it fixed, and now I can't remember what I did to get there. Nasty for you, nasty for when I want to redo an installation at some point...
I remember that it was either Xine or Mplayer that uses some "overlay" or something, and doesn't put it back when its done. (Vague and quite possibly very wrong - I know).
I've searched around in my installation and can't seem to find what I'm doing to get it to work...
Was this it?: http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/mythtv/users/80921?search_string=xine%20tv;#80921
config file ( ~username/.xine/config ) - look for this line:
#video.xv_autopaint_colorkey:0
Uncomment it, and change it to 1.
video.xv_autopaint_colorkey:1 ?
I *do* remember that it was some config or environment tweak I had to do and then it worked fine.
So this may not be a lot of help, but it may ease your mind to know that it is (was? :-D) a known problem and that it can be fixed. :-D
