There's no "hack" needed. Adjust your Myth recording profiles to capture at
720x480 instead of 480x480. Its in the setup section of the frontend.

Well that makes a lot of sense to me now. Though I am having issues
hitting enter on some of the menus including the setup program and the
buttons for the settings. . . This is a different issue that I am trying
to track down.
