I'm trying to fix a a av sync'ing issue .I don't know if the signal stregnth is the issue but when I run mythtvsetup under mandrake 10 .I get 30% signal strength but with XP I get 80%
I am using a Vision-Plus HDTV card it works okay recording the shows and playing them back in mythtv but I have issues exporting the shows as the av sync goes out and get worse as it plays through the file .I am thinking that as it records it's getting alot of errors causing the a sync isues
any ideas help anything would be muchly preciated

Some of the dvb-t drivers don't report the signal strength properly - my Leadtek LR6650 cards report the inverse of the signal ...
As for the exporting issue - I had problems with that too - it's inherent in the kind of stream they transmit. What I do when I want to convert a recorded show to divx or whatever is put the .nuv file through a re-muxing tool which corrects the sync. There's a one for Windows called PVAStrumento - it's quick and very efficient for making a 'proper' mpeg file from a recorded show.
Enough heresy though - I think there are such tools for Linux but I don't know where to get them. I guess I'll have to find out when I dump XP for good soon ;-)
