Has anyone tried using a newer version of MySQL (i.e. 4.1.x or 5.x)? I see a lot of twenty second pauses between simple operations, and suspect that it may be MySQL, but don't know for sure. My mythfrontend logs seem to like spitting out this:

2005-04-24 16:20:26.687 Connecting to backend server: 127.0.0.1:6543 (try 1 of 5)
2005-04-24 16:20:46.692 ReadStringList timeout (quick).
2005-04-24 16:20:46.692 Unexpected response to MYTH_PROTO_VERSION:
error querying master in ProgramList::FromScheduler

And the documentations suggests making sure the IPs match on the General screen in the configuration, which I didn't touch to begin with as my backend and frontend are the same box. Anyone have other suggestions?

My other problem is that when I choose Watch TV, I see the MythTV output (i.e. the display showing what's on the channel), but no display or sound. I can cat /dev/video just fine and get video however. I'm using the CVS build as of 10:00AM the morning of April 24th PST.

Many thanks,
Dustin
