It loads the mysql.txt file from your mythtv installation, connects to mysql, and repairs and optimizes ALL of the tables. Add it to a daily cron job and you'll not only be assured of your tables being repaired if you're not there to watch them, but it'll keep your disk space optimized (the recordedmarkup and program tables are especially good at growing larger than the data they store).
