So the .nuv file format is just a wrapper over the real .TS? If that's the case that would be great! Would the myth transcoder tool be able to unmunge the file? Is it possible to automatically do this? What is the benefit of keeping the recoding in .nuv format?
I think I have the channel guide stuff working now. It was a bit confusing to have to manually dig through the MySQL database. Especially since I don't know the organization nor do I know how to use SQL. I imported a few more stations and tried running mythfilldatabase again. I found out that if you modify the XMLTVID tag after a mythfilldatabase the new data will not be seen in the guide until the original guide data expires. I think you are on the right track for your channel setup. What I did was have mythtvsetup scan for the ATSC channels in the channel editor, added the xmltvid from the zap2it channels to the scanned channels and then marked all of the zap2it channels invisible so that only the scanned channels show up in the program guide.
