Yup. I just saw essentially the same thing by playing it with mplayer. Actually, they could send 720p60, but they're sending 720p59.940. Those are two different formats (of the 17 ATSC formats). Why not send it with the original fps? The networks are just too stuck in the habit of doing everything at 59.940fps. Perhaps there are issues with switching rates between programs? I would like to think that they could easily switch between any of the 17 formats, even in so far as having consecutive commercials in different formats. As to SW:AotC, I'm guessing that it was encoded by the network, not the individual stations, so if any one station couldn't handle a different fps, they couldn't use it. Of course, when two consecutive frames are identical, it doesn't take much additional bandwidth. --PC
