I too am interested in the Epia M1000. Is anyone here using this, and can you answer a couple questions?
---- A bit of background: I want to build a box to record and transcode TV ONLY. I don't care about playback etc. I will move the files on my network to another machine for playback so none of those related issues are relevant. The reason I am interested in the M1000 is that I want a very small form factor and I want a silent or almost-silent box. (I am thinking about using the Otonashi case with a heatpipe rather than CPU fan.) What I am wondering is how the Epia performs at transcoding. I know this can take up a lot of CPU power. How long does it take to (remove commercials and)transcode an hour of video down to something smaller? Can anyone recommend any other small form factor, relatively cool CPU / motherboard for my project?
