Hi Brandon, I think you might have two different problems here, Myth's
audio for live tv is controlled by the audio settings under general in
the frontend setup. You could try putting ALSA:default in here and
default for the mixer device.

I had a similar problem with mplayer and some nero mp4 files, but this
did not effect myth's tv playback. To fix mplayer, I used yum to remove
and re-install mplayer.
