However, it's definitely not related to my soundcards, because when I plug my headphones directly into the TV tuner card, I hear nothing. Then, if I run "v4lctl volume mute off", I hear sound.
In mythtv-setup "Capture cards", try checking the box for "Do not adjust volume". -- bjm
