It doesn't seem too hard to do, but hard to test and potentially pretty fragile.
Can MythTV even be told to "extend a recording" once it has started? I know there's a protocol that you can use to talk to the backend over a TCP socket... but does MythTV itself support changing the end time or duration of a recording in progress?
