Ugh I seem to remember trying to do this and seemed to work. Oh well!
Tried VLC but it doesn't work, and get the list of errors relating to HDC reads on the server. Tho, using mplayer locally with the aa libraries, the DVD plays back perfectly fine. Oh well, gotta find another way to play back DVDs on machines without a DVD drive. Thanks to all for all your help.
