There is a new version of the DOS/65 source package and the DOS/65 Colossus
QuickStart that include a ParPortProp version for older monitors that will not
sync with the current Full color version of the firmware.

Dan,

Yes, I saw all of that. But if you look at my two monitor pictures, as we go
forward, we will have some issues for some of us with older monitors. My
Samsung was purchased in 2005. While it supports 1280 x 1024, it doesn't
appear work at 60 hz. I figure this mismatch is above most of our heads and
may have to go back to Parallax and Chip Gracey. Meanwhile, we may have to
create a version with the original drivers more like the PropIO2 which uses the
VGA_1024 driver.

Yes,
I see that. But some of us aren't going to have monitors that support the
particular frequencies that you chose. So is there a way to adjust things in
the code. I have attached pictures of my Samsung that I will use for this
project and also my other 22 inch widescreen monitor which does work. The
Samsung 913T is 1280 x 1024 Vert 75hz, Hor 81 khz.

The source code is in the dos/65 source in the 6x0x host processor folder. I
can send you a link once I get back home late tomorrow.
This program uses a totally different VGA driver from the pocket term and
requires svga resolution as it is higher resolution and supports color on a
character by character basis.

Dan,
I have my first board up and running (sort of). I don't think you included the
source in the DOS/65 for the PPP Prop IO term. There is one way of in "test",
but it doesn't seem to match up with the .eprom you provided. So far things
are only "sort of" working. The characters seem to be too big. That is the
bottom lines are way off the bottom of the screen. I have used this monitor
with Vince Briel's prop term with all working fine.

All,

The 6x0x boards should be finishing fabrication on 7/7/14 and based on DHL's
delivery speed to me on the left coast here I expect to have the boards on
~7/10/14. At which point I will post some pictures for everyone and generate
PayPal Invoices for all the folks who ordered to pay for their boards.

One request - I've used the Zeta documentation page as a template and created
the skeleton of a documentation page for the 6x0x board at -
http://n8vem-sbc.pbworks.com/w/page/82119161/ECB%206x0x-ATX-6U

Since I did not build one of the prototype boards, it would be very useful to
me if the folks who did build the Rev 008 prototypes could review the
documentation page and provide any inputs. Especially the IC selection and
software sections. You can either edit the page directly or send an email with
what you want added and I'll do it.

We are going to have 65 of these boards out in the wild (and I will be
collecting names for a 2nd batch as well if there is demand) and I'd really
like to have the highest quality documentation possible to go with them.
Andrew L., John C. and the prototype builders put a lot of work into this board
and I expect it to be a new flagship of the N8VEM project. I'm really just
honored to be able to get them made and distributed to everyone.

Thanks,

Andrew B
