At any rate, do you have SELinux enabled? Have you verified that you are not experiencing restrictions based on that. I would also try running status.cgi from the command line as a non-root user to see if you experience any errors that way. It's not a perfect test but it may provide some insight. I doubt it's a compatibility issue. Probably SELinux or some library that isn't where it's expected. Were the CGI's compiled on this machine?
