Agreed - I can easily add a host to all associated services through my hostgroup. For example, I have a hostgroup setup for linux systems. All the service checks for CPU, Disk, etc use the configuration element:
hostgroup_name linux So when I add a new host, I add the hosts.cfg element, then add the hostname to my linux hostgroups and voila! All services are now monitored on the new host. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Hari Sekhon Sent: Wednesday, September 26, 2007 9:50 AM To: Melanie Pfefer Cc: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Nagios-users] is there a nicer way? I think this is a good case for hostgroups. Just put a hostgroup in the services that you want, then when you add a host, add it to the hostgroup, that way it will get all the service checks. -h Hari Sekhon Melanie Pfefer wrote: > hi > > Whenever I add a host in hosts.cfg, I need to associate all needed > services to that host. > > Is there any tool that just copies these services and add the host to > a group automatically? > > thanks > > > ___________________________________________________________ > Yahoo!
