I would definitely recommend www.pcmeasure.com
They sell the ethernetbox, a little box which you can attach to the 
network and where you can connect temperature, humidity,smoke sensors, 
door contacts, switching 220V outlets.....
Snmp is supported and nagios plugins are available.
