I AM checking them via ping- in the host check. It just doesn't make sense to be pinging both as a service check and as a host check, and since the ping is actually determining the host state, not the state of a service, it makes more sense to put the ping check as the host check, rather than a separate service. ----------------------------------------------- Israel Brewster Computer Support Technician Frontier Flying Service Inc. 5245 Airport Industrial Rd Fairbanks, AK 99709 (907) 450-7250 x293 ----------------------------------------------- > > >> -----Original Message----- >> From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >> [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf >> Of Israel Brewster >> Sent: 16 April 2008 19:01 >> To: Nagios Users Mailinglist >> Subject: [Nagios-users] Hosts w/o services >> >> >> Running nagios 3.0, I have set up a number (most) of my hosts >> without >> services, since all I am interested in monitoring is the hosts >> themselves.
