We are running Nagios 2.11. When a check fails, Nagios configuration allows a number of retries of the check before the error becomes "HARD"; we find that this works well for checks which start "OK" and go "CRITICAL". However does the retry mechanism apply when a check goes from "WARNING" to "CRITICAL" ? In other words, if a check is in "WARNING" state and then goes "CRITICAL", does it first become "CRITICAL/SOFT", or does it become "CRITICAL/HARD" straightaway ?
