If MySQL is listening on the network you can use check_tcp on port 3306. That would be the simplest way: check_tcp -H hostname -p 3306 Even on localhost you can check the socket with: check_tcp -H /path/to/mysqld.sock Thomas -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFIfnCb6dZ+Kt5BchYRAn8FAKDWfvS2xiULga3nzrDSb+xeBXVrOACgip5Y zlZ4JjI4P8zUndEdfkOzi3w= =6uFv -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ Nagios-users mailing list Nagios-users@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/nagios-users ::: Please include Nagios version, plugin version (-v) and OS when reporting any issue. ::: Messages without supporting info will risk being sent to /dev/null
