Well, I threw together a (very) quick shell script for this purpose  
that I am using here. Basically just checks the status SNMP entry of  
our ricohs, and returns a status code depending on that as well as  
whatever status text SNMP gives. It is NOT polished, and will probably  
break if you look at it wrong, but it works for us. If anyone wants  
it, let me know.
