Hi All,

I hope someone can point me in the right direction but I'm getting very mixed
results when enabling flap detection (via the object templates) for a given
service.

I'm using Nagios 3.2.3 (on CentOS - a DAG RPM) and have enabled notifications
globally (and can confirm this via the "Process Info" CGI - it says "Flap
Detection Enabled? Yes"). I have defined a simple host configuration with the
given service using a single template. The template has flap_detection_enabled
= 0 defined.  I have configured flap_detection_enabled = 1 on the service in
question but via the Configuration > Services CGI I'm seeing "Enable Flap
Detection No". The only way I can get it to say Yes (indicating that it is
using Flap Detection) is to remove the configuration from the service and
either remove it from the template or change the template to
flap_detection_enabled = 1.

I'm restarting the Nagios daemon each time I make changes to the configuration.

Has anyone else experienced this or am I totally off the mark?
