The standard check_http plugin supports the ability to send username and password (assuming the site uses a browser-authentication). From there you can do either string or regular-expression matching. If the site doesn't use browser-authentication, then I'd recommend the perl module WWW::Mechanize to fill in forms and browse through a website. We use this module for a number of our site monitoring. It's very robust (if you take the time to use the module properly) and very easy to use.
