What happens Werner is I worship the ground you walk on!!!!!!

Removing the hostgroups line from the service definitions makes Nagios behave 
exactly the way I want it to do!

Andrew,

what happens when you remove the "hostgroups" line from each service
definition?

AFAIK this causes the services to be executed on any host in that
hostgroup, while you intend to check one server per service (as I
understood).
