What part of jboss came slow? You can use check_http to pull the jmx console from the port (8082?) and ensure that 1) The page returns in a given timeout 2) The page returns a 200 OK message 3) The page is long enough Personally I couldn't care less if my jboss server is working, I'm much more concerned the application and websites deployed on it are working, so I check them instead (including using check_http to pull a static .gif, and using check_http to pull a database-generated page, which tells me if it's the webserver that's down, or if it's the database pool) http://www.bbc.co.uk/ This e-mail (and any attachments) is confidential and may contain personal views which are not the views of the BBC unless specifically stated.
