You may want to try nagstamon (http://nagstamon.ifw-dresden.de/).  It's a
small and beautiful desktop application which sits in your system tray and
displays the live health of your IT infrastructure.

It gives you the ability to directly SSH/RDP to your desired host, which
can be extended and made simple by setting up one time passwordless
authentication on your *nix servers.  After using it you don't even need to
keep a constant eye on Nagios dashboard.  Think about all the time and
efforts saved :)
