Hi, I made some tests and it turned out, that using execv only gains a minimal performance improvements. Current systems can spawn new shells pretty fast. The big system impact is forking the nagios core, not the sub shell. If you really want to boost your installations performance wait for Nagios 4 or use Mod-Gearman which are both worker based.
