What kids want...........is POLISH! They don't give a hoot about the rest. I
agree with you, Debbie.

Subject: NailTech:: Pedicures on Children

We have a new esthetician at our salon who just started recently.  She asked me
the other day how much I would charge for doing pedicures on a regular basis
for her 4 and 6 year old little girls.  She asked me this while I was doing a
pedicure on her.  I kept my head down and said, "wellllll, it depends on what
you want...a little polish on the toe nails or a full blown pedicure.  She said
full blown.  I said well, I don't know as I've never done a pedicure on little
children before, only manicures.

First off...for some reason, I'm not feeling comfortable about doing this kind
of service a little children.  It just doesn't sit right with me.  I paid for
my education and training to perform pedicures on those who need assistance in
maintaining their feet or for those who look forward to having this special
treat done for themselves.  I feel if I do this on little children it won't be
appreciated or messed up by the time they "crawl" off the pedicure chair and
crawl back on their swings.  And, my gosh....pedicures on little children?????
On a regular basis????  Puhleeeeze!  They're feet don't even reach down into
the tub.  Besides, I don't want to use up my time slots doing little children
and charging minimal when I can be filling my Pedi slots w/ regular paying and
deserving clients.

So...am I wrong in turning her down?  Am I making a big deal out of nothing?
What do I say?  Feedback, please.

Debbie
