'Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets;
so love the people who treat you right, forget about the ones who don't,
and believe that everything happens for a reason.

Subject: NailTech:: Mom & Me - off nail topic but on our minds....

I just wanted take a moment and update all of you on Mom.? But first I want to
thank all of you for your support.? I've been on this?list almost since Deb
started it and through the years I've met and corresponded with so many people
and made so many wonderful friends.? Thank you for all of your support.?
Believe me, even short emails letting me know you are thinking of me and my
family help a great deal!

?

So Mom is still in the hospital.? They are treating her for Pneumonia even
though there is no infection present.? She has had a cat scan and ultrasound
and what they suspect is that she has been aspirating fluid and possibly food
into her lung.? Tomorrow they are going to drain the fluid.? While doing that
they are checking for cancer.? This is routine due to the fact she had clear
cell carcinoma 4 years ago.? We and the Doctors are very optimistic that she
will recover nicely and be better than before this happened after removing
whatever is in the lung.? She will be going to rehab for 2 weeks for PT.

?

This brings me to the lovely news I received 2 days ago.?

?

Breast Cancer awareness is everywhere and we have our two "sisters" Karen and
Pati battling this HEAD ON!? (You go girls!) Up until last year I never went
for a mammogram.? Of course, I got called back for a recheck...ultrasound,
MRI.? Six months later, I felt something in my arm...back I went for an
ultrasound...2nd mammo...MRI.? I went for a second opinion...another mammo,
ultrasound, MRI.

Determined to be dense tissue.? Whew!? A sigh of relief.? Very thankful I
went!? But, they could see my thyroid on the last MRI and thought they saw
something.

?

I went for another Ultrasound.? I have two nodules, one large, one small.? Doc
wanted an needle biopsy to make sure it's benign.? I was expecting to have to
wait for days for the results but they told me right in the office that the
cells are benign.? But the type of tumor it is (Follicular Neoplasm) and
because it's the size of a golf ball, it needs to come out.? The only real way
to be sure it is not cancer is to remove and examine it.? I just learned by
doing research that they do not "just remove" these tumors.? They take part or
all of your thyroid with it.?

?

So on top of my poor mom being so sick, I'm having surgery too.? My spirits are
up, there is lots of powerful "woman mojo" going around and I have support
popping up from likely and unlikely sources.? I'm not one to air my personal
things in public but I have found that sharing the good AND the bad with the
people in your life takes some of the stress out of the way.? I also need some
"super-woman mojo" to help continue my positive attitude!

?

Although Mom is in a "local" hospital and will be in a "local" rehab, my
surgery will be done in a hospital over an hour away so it will complicate
things for my family.? But we've dealt with this before so we'll manage.? I
really can't complain since poor Karen had to go up to MIAMI!!!!? See,
"super-woman mojo" at it's best! LOL!

?

I just want to say one more thing before I finish.? THANK GOD I GOT MY
MAMMOGRAM AND WENT FOR A SECOND OPINION!? Had I not done that, they would not
have found this so quickly and I could be having a cancerous tumor removed!?
Had I not known Karen and Pati so well or at all, I probably would still be
putting my Mammogram off!

?

OK, I feel better now! ;)

?

Thanks for you support again!

?

all the best,

?
