Missy,

I have been wondering what happened to you. Last I remember you had a job at a
school. I am so sorry about your situation. Your website and your name is so
cute. I hope something changes for you soon.

And Carolyn,

I still can't receive your e-mails so I only know that your thinking about
changing jobs or closing your doors from the others' e-mails. If we want things
to change then we have to make changes. Maybe going to a busy salon will help.
Once you get established there, you can always go back to having your own
place. I hope things get better. At least little Jaedan is doing well. Take
care.

Subject: NailTech:: Re: ?????? For my Nail Tech Sisters?

Kathryn,
I live in a small town in Michigan about 5000 population, and a sister town
with an additional 10000 people but the regular salons don't hire nail techs,
and the nail salons are all asian. I tried to work in one of the asian shops,
but after three days I couldn't stay without endangering my own license. NSS.
Even walmarts nail salon is empty. I think Michigans unemployment rate is at
11% now. But that is only counting those receiving unemployment benefits. In
my AND my husbands family, only 3 people have a job right now, two of which is
under 12k a year. No one gets unemployment benefits. My back up being a degree
in animal science, and toxicology scientist has not even helped. I've applied
throughout the united states, but have not even had a phone interview. Since my
husband is a waiter, things are only going to get worse. He depends on tips. He
has made only 150 bucks this month so far. We are going to have to sell
everything we own in order to pay
bills. Selling all the stuff in my salon is the first thing to go, considering
my doctor told me if I continued to play with artificial nail products I would
be deaf within a year. (Chronic ear infections from allergies to it) I just
don't see the light beyond this, only fear of what comes next. I do still have
hope to win the lotto though lol... ......

Missy,

I'm so sorry to hear about your shop.  Where are you?  Are there any other
salons you can work at?  I know here it's hard because we're in such a small
town.  There's about 3 oriental shops that won't hire anyone but orientals so
they're not an option. It's slow here in central FL so even the full service
salons aren't hiring. Hope you can work something out.

Kathryn
