Michelle, You have to stir them up but be careful not to whip air in them. I just got mine too and I don't know what top to use either. Did they send you a clear gentle gel? I was going to use that under the color and was wondering if that is what you use on top also. The orchid and chocolete covers. The pink is almost clear. Haven't tried the apricot yet or the three holographics. The red covers also. Can't remember the name. Which ones are almost clear for you. Angie Wingerter
