I am by no means a gel expert...I do them but I don't like to do them! (I just
refuse to pass up a client, so I had to master them also hee-hee) I believe
that if the client's nailbeds are thin or damaged they will feel a heat spike
more also.? You mentioned she removed her acrylic....did she pull it off?
(bite, chew or pick??)? Good luck...I need more gel product...mine are like
almost 3 years old now!!? Have to throw them away and start over ...so I think
I might get a soak off gel...which one system do you all like?? (LOL..like we
are all going to agree)

The heat spike is caused as soon as the gel starts to cure......there are
some product lines that have more of a heat spike (envogue is the worst I
have found for this). I use NSI Balance gels and there is waaaay less heat
spike. Most clients don't experience it at all. The newer gels (NSI
Balance, Brisa) seem to have a chemical formulation that creates less heat,
but yet you don't lose any of the bonding or curing ability. If you really
load that product on there you will get more of a heat spike with the first
layer of gel, although as Lynette says, some clients are just more sensitive
to it. In those cases I go as thin as possible on the first layer. Tell the
client to take her hands out of the light until it passes and then go back
into the light. Holly Vancouver, [email protected] On 21-May-09, at 10:13 AM,
