Lmao! So sowwy Maaahsha! Hugs... But I have to say I was with Gina last weekend
in Nashville (HRTE) and dang... As loyal and faithful as I have been to CND and
Brisa.... AKZENTZ ROCKS! Lol....

I have been having curing issues with Brisa opaques and I have done everything
I know to do short of calling the Psychic Hotline! Giggles.... Plus Akzentz
just has a more versatile line of products that will enable me to do more with
less! AND Akzentz is not nearly as temperamental as Brisa in that lamp
maintenance is more cost effective.... So looking at the "big picture...."

Now stop that Melody!! I don't want to hear how much MORE you like Akzentz than
Brisa!   I was a field tester for Brisa for nearly 3 years before they
launched.....and the funny thing is that I attended the ABA in Calgary during
that same time period and recall getting a sample set of Akzentz gels to try. I
decided to go with the Brisa. I do love my Brisa, but Akzentz seems to
have reached beyond what Brisa is doing. I missed the chance to observe Jess
with Akzentz when she was here (in Montana) a couple of weeks ago. One day I'll
get the chance!

Shannon,

I know NOTHING about Star nail products other than files and Cuccio… I
currently use Brisa.  I don’t get how several ladies on this list have problems
using this product because it is by far the simplest product line that I have
found of good quality.  Akzentz, however, is excellent quality and a more
sophisticated line of gels in that it is much more versatile.  Akzentz has many
different KINDS of gels in their line which enables you to do a lot more things
more efficiently… however, if you are just learning to do gels, it can get a
little confusing understanding what gel to use for what application.

If you have primarily only worked with L&P, you will find getting gel
application technique is difficult to reprogram into your brain!  Personally,
although I have been CND die-hard for the last couple of centuries, (LOL), I am
going to switch completely over to Akzentz.  I like it much better than Brisa.

If you decide to go with Akzentz, you will have made an excellent choice!

So the Azkentz is a good soakable for someone who has never done gels and
starnails is a good regular sculpting gel for someone who has never done gels?
What is the difference in the azkentz regular gel and the starnails reg gel?

I haven't used OPI's soak offs yet,  they are quite expensive compared to all
others.  I LOVE akzentz colors (soakable) and the few starnail colors (not soak
off) that I have.  Great coverage and they wear very well,  still on the
upper price end (the akzentz), but compared to the ESN and the IBD I have in
other colors,  way way better.  I find with ESN and IBD I have to use many
layers of colors and cure very well inbetween layers.  So they really end up
costing me more time.  So I would definitely try the first two I suggested as
well as the OPI.  The starnail colors are very reasonably priced,  but they
only have a handful of colors, but they all go on in one or two coats and wear
very well.

thanks lynnette!  I was thinking about Axxium soakoff for the color.  we use
opi polish so it would be a pretty easy sell.  I'll have to try the nailite
though.  What about ManiQ from YN?

Cira,
My suggestion is for you to start with a one step gel.
Nailite has some great gels that are one step. They have THE best thick gel I
have ever used. YOU control the gel.
That is my opinion and that is how I started out. I did not want a base,
builder, this gel or that gel then a top gel. Sheesh, I only book an hour for
each client!! LOL
Buenos dias,

I want to get into gels but don't know what line to go with.  Any suggestions?
Lisa, what did you think of Axxium?

Thanks Cira

I used Axxium at school.  Sometimes if the gel is too thick you will get a
burning sensation.  Especially on the thumbs.  I only experienced it when using
the Axxium system, though.  Has to do with the curing of the gel.  Experts,
please elaberate....

I really appreciate all the input that i have received....I did do my
first set of gels and I really like them.  I dont know how to upload
pix or else I would so you can give me your input on them.  The
problem I had is that she about jumped through the roof when she had
to put her hands in the UV lamp.  It didnt happen on  with the gel
base but it did when i laid the first layer of gel overlay (i am using
the Axxium system) Did I do something wrong????  It didnt happen on
the second layer though....can this have anything to do with her
soaking off her acrylics before she got this set of gels???
