The long neck allows you to better position the bulb.....250 watts can be REALLY hot and it's nice to have the flexibility to position the lamp so that it's hot but not too hot, if you understand what I mean. A 250 watt bulb can burn ya good....and of course everyone has a different tolerance to heat. jmho Marsha McDonald Rubino GIMME NAILS @ the Devonshire 37 Fifth St. E. She said they work just as well. I just ordered the middle kit that came with the heat lamp cuz I'm too lazy to go to the pet store. ;0) Sent from my iPod On Aug 4, 2009, at 8:02 AM, Laura Allison <lauramarie...@googlemail.com> wrote: Hello! I guess I should introduce myself first; since I am new to the forum. My name is Laura and I just graduated nail school back in June and so far haven't had much luck in the "nail world". I just received my minx kit last week. I was told that you could use a reptile lamp instead of purchasing the minx heat.
