Mindy
I have since closed my nail spa because of the 2 ruptured discs in my low low
back.
How does it make your low back feel?
If I sit for more than 10-15 minutes I feel like my spine is coming thru my
butt cheeks ( sorry for being crude but that's about how it feels put into nice
terms).

Thanks for any input

Hi friends,

I bought my ball chair at the suggestion of my personal trainer who knows I
have an unhealthy love/hate relationship with my exercise ball <g>. I found
mine on eBay but the regular price at the Gaiam website (http://www.gaiam.com)
is something like $100-ish, which, frankly isn't bad for a GOOD chair. Let's
face it folks, we spend a lot of our day sitting and it's really important that
we sit properly. The ball chair allows me to do so. Your customers will
probably think you've finally inhaled a little too much monomer (mine certainly
did) but once you let them sit on it for a moment, they'll most likely change
their minds. I also show a picture of my chair to my students when we go over
the chapter in the Milady textbook that discusses ergonomics (and it always
gets a response). I'm even considering schlepping it to class so they can see
first-hand (no pun intended) this comfortable chair.

I will admit that the chair does take a little bit of getting used to, but
you'll quickly adapt...and probably NOT have a backache at the end of your day
(definitely a plus, IMO). My ball chair is now in place at the computer and
even my husband (who does have back problems) prefers it to a "regular" chair.

Now Pati, I don't know why your chair squeaks. The only noise mine makes is
the sound of the wheels when I roll it around. But now that I think of it,
when I inadvertently lock one of the wheels, the chair does make an annoying
noise which goes away when I "unlock" the wheel(s).

Hope this helps! As you can tell, I truly do love my ball chair!

Hey Mindy,

Will you PLEASE tell us about that ball chair. My massage therapist told me I
needed to use that chair.

Thanks in advance,
Maureen

Well I had the "bestest" time with all of you! You girls were the greatest
picking me up in that snowstorm!!!
BTW- I sent my kids to Ed Debevick's this week. I cannot wait to hear how they
liked it. I put a pic up on FaceBook of the counter dance! And my
granddaughters both love the sundae cup!
Hugs!

Jill--

Silly, you forgot to mention that Opalized Designs Studio Salon is in
the running too, and that there is room for two phenominally sanitary
shops with super awesome technicians on opposite ends of town in the
Detroit suburbs! :)

Friends, all Jill said is SO true!!! When the results
were covered on
Monday night, August 24th (to prepare for the BIG revealing
finish...ooooohhhh...aaahhh), Eton was in 4th position and Opalized
was in 6th!

Both shops scored last year in the top five...Opalized--#2 and Eton--
#4! YEAH US!!!!

Both shops were both blessed with advertising and client leads
throughout Metro Detroit by being in the VOTE 4 THE BEST Beauty
Catergory TOP 5 for Manicure and Pedicure...so Jill is so right if you
have got the time and dual e-mails~~~both shops would love the
support! One vote per e-mail addy per the contest rules!

ALL of us, on these boards know this type of advertising and promotion
is not necessarily available for small shops like Eton or Opalized
when it comes to putting it in the marketing budget. So your help
would be greatly appreciated by us both- especially here in the
Detroit area!

This is the Opalized link:
http://wdiv.cityvoter.com/opalized-designs-studio-salon/biz/92064

And feel free to let us know if we are able to help you in the same
way!!! Once your clients nominate you for something like this, it is
amazing the excitement it generates in the salon!

Jill, you said I need to be confident and I really DO listen to your
pearls of wisdom! Thank you for all your guidance and support as my
mentor the last three years and for the great times at the Chicago
show as roomies! My OWN business happening this year is partially cuz
YOU believed in me when others didn't and things seemed impossible!
You are very special to me Jilly WIlly! XOXOXOXOXO

With great appreciation to the rest of you for considering a double
vote for two ROCKIN DEEE-TROIT shops,
