Caralyn, there are so many exemptions, police, fire, teachers, 
doctors, farmers.  Then you have unions and city, county and state 
employees. Go to the link that I provided, it will give you more info 
than I can.  Also, your son can contact your local DOL and they can 
answer questions.  Sorry I can't be of more help.  I don't have any
