Just an add-on to Dawn's message.

You couldn't pay me to trade in my Minx Heat and we are about to get another
one and have shades made for them. I had hoped that Minx was going to sell
the shade in the video w/Tom but they never did. L

For absolute best results, Minx Heat is the BEST way to go!

Hi.

This is my personal opionion here...

I tried the lamps from home depot/ pet stores and my set up took up more
space and the shade i put the bulb in didnt look too great for a salon...so
I decided to stop messing around cuz now Minx is taking off in my area and
so I decided to get the Minx Heat... What a difference!! I LOVE it!!! I
should of got it in the beginning. Love the look of it too and it clamps and
easily moves out of the way when I don't need it. And the way it heats up
the Minx too... Makes application so much easier. :)

Well that's my 2 cents... I'm sure people out there made thier lamps and it
works for them... I just felt it was more of a hassel.

More about these lights, lamps and bulbs...

If I put this lamp on my station, do I have to be sure anything under it is
able to withstand the heat? Can I turn the light away? can I turn it off? If
I turn it off, does it take forever to heat back up? I'm going to get a
clear infrared 250w bulb at Home Depot but I will also need to look for a
lamp to use it in - does it have a regular bulb base? I don't have a lot of
room for an additional lamp at my station so I'm trying to map this out a
little... thanks guys!

blow dryer does not give even heat, you must have a least a 150 watt light
bulb and a {desk top heat lamp that can with stand the 150 w heat }most desk
lamps are only 60w,also you dont want to cook the sheets before you apply to
warm nail bed/nail plate, just a little heat to make it more easy to work
with it is very easy to do.You really do need the minx heat or try home
depot for work light-desk heat lamp.

Becky,
If you opt to use the lizard light, be very careful. I saw a girl get burned
from one while getting minxed.

Why doesn't a blow dryer work? I'm just curious if that's the one thing I'm
missing - I don't have an infrared light or the Minx heat light - and in the
training vid, I didn't see Tom heating the Minx like I did before I applied
it.. Maybe that's the problem? I warmed it, then applied it - it went on
really nice and I could smooth it out, but then it buckled all around the
cuticle and sidewalls. Then it really wants to roll off of the edges - oh
man, it made me crazy!! I need more help! I've only done 4 sets :)
