Oh yes, Becky...P&W cutters have been around for a while.  Even some non-NSS
techs (including me) have been known to use them.

This leads me to a potentially interesting discussion:  the "NSS" salons are
employing more & more techniques to come closer and closer to the "standard"
salons (at least the look of the finished nails).  With the disparity in their
pricing which attracts a lot of clients, once again we need to reaffirm our
commitment to making our product & service stand out and apart, and educate
everyone (clients or not) about the differences between the two salon
experiences. We understand our commitment to sanitation, high quality products,
latest trends in application and art, and the different types of clients we
want to attract.

But the niche that the NSS salons are filing is a HUGE niche!!! We all say that
we don't want spotty clients that just walk in and want fast, "cheap" (i.e.
inexpensive) nails.  But obviously the NSS salons where these clients frequent
are not hurting for business...this is a market we need to capture!

The way I look at it, money is money is money.  I admit some clients are just
not worth my time.  I'm not going to do a full set on a nail biter with raggedy
cuticles for $18.  But is there NOTHING I can do for this client that they
wouldn't mind paying $25 for? $30? $35?  If it means that I need to use a
P&W cutter (e.g. the Q French Tool) to cut down on my sculpt time & effort, but
the products are of higher quality and the sanitation impeccable and the time
is 1 hour, I can snap this client up.

I know this isn't the initial intent of your message Becky :-)  but it just got
me thinking again about a topic I often ponder.

Besides, my smiles lines sometimes suck.  :-)

Subject: NailTech:: Q French Tool

Ok, so I had a client who couldn't get in to me last week visit a NSS salon and
she came in with some pretty DECENT looking smile lines.....I was surprised.
She told me they used a tool that looked like a "chinese star", so I did some
searching. I also searched googlegroups for any posts about this, and didn't
find anything. Have you all seen these and do any of you use them?!
